The Toronto Public Library, Spadina Branch, 10 Spadina Road, Toronto (just north of Bloor), is hosting a free, hand-sewing quilt class on Thursday, February 2 from 6 to 8 pm. I will be teaching the log cabin block including a short history of the block. The blocks will be the beginning of a community quilt for the library. Registration required.
I will be speaking at the East York Quilters Guild (145 Strathmore, Toronto) on Thursday, February 23 @ 7 pm for about one hour. Everyone is welcome and it's free! The theme will be 'Beyond the Hobby Quilter', which will include ideas on "how to get out there" for quilters and textile artists. Of course, I will be bringing some of my quilts and textile art pieces to illustrate my points. The visuals are always the best part! Hope to see you there.
Making your quilt your own is something I have always advocated. My students feel inspired and produce one-of-a-kind quilts even when using the same block! The theme of my talk will be INSPIRATION. I’ll be presenting it more like a lesson and will be bringing my quilts and textile art pieces to illustrate my points.
See you at the Mississauga Quilter's Guild (Tomken Twin Arena, 2nd floor, 4495 Tomken Road Mississaga, Ontario) on Thursday, May 3, 2012 for a 7:30 start.

On the evening of Thursday, November 1, 2012, I will be back at the Mississauga Quilter's Guild. The topic will be 'Beyond the Hobby Quilter', ideas on "how to get out there" for quilters and textile artists- a little lesson in marketing. Of course, I will be bringing some of my quilts and textile art pieces to illustrate my points. The visuals are always the best part!
On Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at 1 o'clock, I will be speaking at the Moraine Quilt Guild in Oak Ridges, Ontario. The topic is "Inspiration". I always bring some quilts and textile art works to help illustrate my points. I hope I will inspire my audience!
On Wednesday, February 5, at 9:30 a.m. I will be speaking at the Kawartha Quilters Guild in Peterborough. The guild has 180 members. Impressive!! My talk is entitled INSPIRATION. I will also be teaching a full day Quilt-As-You-Go class using only scraps and leftover batting on the following day, Thursday, February 6, from 9am to 3pm.
