Art Journal Continues

Maria Sfara passed away a few days ago. She wasn't a good friend but I did stop in at the bar that she owned to see her every summer. She was an institution in this town.

The church bells rang all afternoon, every fifteen minutes, announcing her passing.

I went to her funeral. I think everyone in the town was there.

My journal entry was about that day.

I 'drew' the sound of the funeral bells.

Fresh Lemons in Italy

It has been about a week since my last post. I am on holidays in the south of Italy as per usual so I will post when I have internet.

I arrived in my apartment and the landlord had a plate of fresh lemons picked from his tree waiting for me.

I am making journal entries often.

Welcome.

I wake up to this view every morning. It is the view from my terrace.

Preparation

When I am "away" I keep a journal.

It is usually a small book that I can keep in my purse or beach bag, something I can whip out when I have a thought or want to sketch something.

This time I am trying a larger format.

It's a new size that will take getting use to.

I don't think I will be bringing it around with me so I will have to set aside some time to make daily entries.

In preparation for my trip, I am "washing" some pages in colour.
